Early Life

Zainab Balogun was Born in London to Nigerian parents,she grew up in Clapham, South West London, within a large extended family.

She hails from the Egba subgroup of the Yoruba ethnic group and traces her roots to Abeokuta, Ogun State. Her mother’s career required frequent moves, so she spent much of her upbringing with relatives.

Career

Zainab Balogun attended Sacred Heart RC Secondary School, where she developed a passion for the arts through talent shows and plays. She later studied Law, Psychology, and English Language & Literature at Christ the King Sixth Form College before earning a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Kent.

At 16, she joined Premier Models Management. After university, she appeared in productions like Material Girl (BBC One), Bollywood’s Cocktail (2012), and The Charlatans. In 2011, she worked on The Dark Knight Rises under director Christopher Nolan, calling it an unforgettable experience.

She transitioned into TV production and presentation, creating content for EbonyLife TV, including EL Now, a daily entertainment news program. She currently co-hosts The Spot with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Lamide Akintobi.

Balogun currently works as a presenter for EbonyLife TV, where she co-hosts and produces The Spot, one of the channel’s top talk shows, alongside Lamide Akintobi. She also serves as a presenter and associate producer on Jumia TV, a teleshopping show.
