Early Life and Education
Dele Odule was born on 23 November 1961 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, in southwestern Nigeria. However, he comes from Oru Ijebu, located in the Ijebu North local government area of Ogun State.
He completed his basic and secondary education in Oru Ijebu. Dele earned a Grade II Certificate from the Teacher’s Training College in Oru before advancing to the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, where he studied Theatre Arts. His educational background equipped him with a strong foundation in the performing arts, preparing him for his future career in Nollywood.
Career
Dele Odule began his acting journey in 1986 by joining the Oloko Theatre Group, where Mukaila Adebisi mentored him. He gained recognition and rose to fame after starring in the movie Ti Oluwa Ni Ile. Since then, Dele has appeared in over 200 films, showcasing his versatility and commitment to the Nigerian film industry.
His role in the movie Kori Koto earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor (Yoruba) at the 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards. Dele has expanded his influence beyond acting by taking on roles as a film producer, director, and screenwriter. Currently, he serves as the President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, where he advocates for the growth and development of the industry.
Additionally, Dele represents Airtel Nigeria as one of their brand ambassadors, contributing to corporate social responsibility efforts.
