Early Life
Femi Branch, born on May 14, 1970, grew up in Sagamu, Ogun State. Both of his parents worked as teachers, shaping his early experiences around education and discipline. He began his academic journey at Satellite Town Primary School in Amuwo Odofin and later attended Airforce Secondary School in Ikeja. Branch went on to study at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he initially pursued Religious Studies. However, his passion for the arts led him to switch majors, and he eventually earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts.
Career
Femi Branch launched his acting career in 1991 while still a student at Obafemi Awolowo University. He took part in his first stage production a Yoruba play titled Eniyan. He gained early screen experience in the university-produced film Orisun (meaning “Origin”). His breakthrough into mainstream media came in 2003 when he featured in a television commercial titled Dance with Me. He later became widely known for his role as Oscar in the Nigerian television soap opera Domino.
Since then, Branch has built a prolific career in Nollywood, with appearances in over a hundred films. His work spans acting, producing, and directing. In 2024, he played a leading role in Farmer’s Bride, a Nigerian period drama. Alongside his entertainment career, Branch also ventured into politics and contested for the position of deputy governor during the 2023 general elections in Ogun State.
